Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG Riserva 2009
The grapes are carefully selected at the time of harvest and then set aside in wooden boxes and on racks. The arrangement of the grapes at rest is very important so that the drying takes place naturally. At the end of November, the first signs of noble rot appear, which develop later. After pressing and maceration, alcoholic fermentation on indigenous yeasts begins. Fermentation is very slow and lasts 45 days. Finally, Amarone della Valpolicella 2009 ages for 7 years in Slavonian oak barrels. In this way a wine of extraordinary structure and complexity is obtained.
Tasting Notes:
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva 2009 has a deep pomegranate red color and to the nose it gives an intense aroma of licorice, cocoa, vanilla that blends with the ripe fruity notes of cherry and plum. The taste is full, intense, of refined elegance and with a remarkable persistence.
