FRATELLI ALESSANDRIA Barolo Monvigliero 2017
The grapes come from the prestigious Cru of Verduno, from vines over 40 years old that grow on calcareous soil tending to silty, with a characteristic bright white colour. In this area the vines enjoy a sublime south/south-west exposure, with an altitude ranging from 250 to 310 metres above sea level. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in steel tanks for 20-25 days, followed by 36 months of refinement in Slavonian oak casks, 2 months in steel and at least 6 months in the bottle.
The Barolo “Monvigliero” expresses a luminous garnet red colour in the glass. The nose expresses a complex and multifaceted bouquet of ripe black cherries, dried leaves, leather and liquorice. The sip is deep and austere, with an elegant soul.
