ARIANNA OCCHIPINTI Santa Margherita Grillo 2021
Grape varieties: Grillo 100%
In 2016, after some research, Arianna found Santa Margherita, a Contrada she fell in love with, at the foot of Chiaramonte Gulfi, a historic village in the Monti Iblei.
This is a white grape variety (Grillo) with a great personality, mainly grown in western Sicily and for several decades in eastern Sicily under the historical name Riddu. It is believed to be a cross between Zibibbo and Catarratto.
Maceration on the skins for 48 hours and spontaneous fermentation in concrete.
It has a good aromatic intensity, showing the typical notes of citrus fruits, accompanied by spicy vegetal notes and those of white flowers. It has a good balance between the alcoholic and sour sensations and is particularly savory.
