Volpe Pasini is a historic name in Friulian wine. Its origins date back to the 18th century and the original nucleus of the manor house on the estate dates back to 1596. The vast property also includes a centuries-old park, which contributes to the rich biodiversity of the area. Until the second half of the 20th century, the estate was a classic mixed farm, and it was only in those years that it changed its vocation to decisively direct its production towards viticulture with the aim of beginning to produce quality wines. During the 1970s, Volpe Pasini contributed to the transition from the tradition of bulk wine to bottled wine, also opening up to international markets, to become one of the most important and dynamic companies on the Friuli scene.
The philosophy of the Volpe Pasini winery can be summed up in three key words: originality, longevity, pleasantness. Originality refers to the origin of the grapes and wines from a territory with unique characteristics. The Colli Orientali del Friuli area is characterised by a mild climate, protected to the north by the Julian Pre-Alps chain and open to the south to the gentle influence of the Adriatic Sea breezes. The soils are very suitable, draining and rich in minerals, capable of guaranteeing excellent sustenance for the vines. These particular soil and climatic conditions provide an ideal habitat for viticulture. The excellent quality and aromatic richness of the grapes allows the production of wines with a very pleasant taste, very harmonious and well-balanced. It is precisely from the absolute value of the wines that their extraordinary longevity also derives, which does not only apply to the reds, but also to the whites.
