Considered by many to be the greatest Italian white wine, the Valentini family’s Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is a monument to craft vine growing and a real bulwark against the homogenisation of taste. It is not a wine for everybody, a far cry from any stereotype and equal only to itself. The grapes ripen the vines grown by the traditional “pergola” method, while the wine shuns techniques like steel fermenters or barriques. It has slightly veiled, unreachable fragrances and tastes that cannot be described in words.
